About Bolivar Peninsula

Bolivar Peninsula is a very small coastal town (ie. on the ocean or tidally-influenced rivers) located in the state of Texas. With a population of 3,853 people and just one neighborhood, Bolivar Peninsula is the 404th largest community in Texas.

Bolivar Peninsula is a blue-collar town, with 40.3% of people working in blue-collar occupations, while the average in America is just 24.7%. Overall, Bolivar Peninsula is a town of sales and office workers, construction workers and builders, and professionals. There are especially a lot of people living in Bolivar Peninsula who work in office and administrative support jobs (13.85%), sales jobs (7.66%), and food service (7.08%).

Bolivar Peninsula is a major vacation destination. Much of the town's population is seasonal: many people own second homes and only live there part-time, during the vacation season. The effect on the local economy is that many of the businesses are dependant on tourist dollars, and may operate only during the high season. As the vacation season ends, Bolivar Peninsula's population drops significantly, such that year-round residents will notice that the city is a much quieter place to live.

The town is also nautical, which means that parts of Bolivar Peninsula are somewhat historic and bounded by the ocean or tidal bodies of water, such as inlets and tidal rivers. Such areas are often places that visitors and locals go for waterfront activities or taking in the scenery.

One downside of living in Bolivar Peninsula, however, is that residents on average have to contend with a long commute, spending on average 41.85 minutes every day commuting to work.

Being a small town, Bolivar Peninsula does not have a public transit system used by locals to get to and from work.
